Launching the official glasgow 2026 merchandise
Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games — Merchandise Launch Campaign
Photography · Lifestyle · Behind the Scenes · Social & Video Assets
In five days, the Commonwealth Games come home. Glasgow becomes only the third city in history to host the Games twice, and for a summer, the eyes of the Commonwealth are on our doorstep.
Before an athlete steps onto the track, the Games arrive in another way — on the backs of the fans. The official merchandise is how a city wears its Games, and Monumont was brought in to bring the full Glasgow 2026 range to life across three distinct shoots: a studio day built for e-commerce, a lifestyle shoot at Scotstoun, and the launch of the Team Scotland x Glasgow 2026 collection featuring three of the athletes who'll be competing on home soil.
Day One — The Studio
Every product launch starts with the fundamentals done properly. Day one was a full studio setup dedicated to flatlay and e-commerce photography for the official Glasgow 2026 website — clean, consistent, and built to sell.
This is the unglamorous end of the craft, and it's where discipline shows. Repeatable lighting across the full range. Colour accuracy that holds true from a phone screen to a desktop. Garments styled, steamed, and shot so that every product page carries the same standard as the last. When a fan anywhere in the Commonwealth clicks "add to basket," the first impression is the photograph — and we treated every frame accordingly.
Day Two — Scotstoun
Product photography tells you what the range is. Lifestyle photography tells you what it means.
For day two, we took the collection to Scotstoun — a venue that will host the track and field programme when the Games begin — and shot a full lifestyle set with a magazine-editorial edge. Natural movement, real light, and the gear worn the way it will be worn this summer: in the stands, on the streets, in the middle of it all.
Shooting at a Games venue days before the city fills up gave the imagery something a studio never could — a sense of place. This is Glasgow's Games, and the photography needed to feel like it.
Day Three — Team Scotland x Glasgow 2026
The third day was the headline: launching the Team Scotland x Glasgow 2026 branded range, shot with three athletes who'll be wearing the thistle this summer.
Melanie Woods — wheelchair racer returning for her second Games, chasing a medal on home tarmac after a fourth-place finish in Birmingham.
Beth Riva — one of the newest names in the Bowls squad, a world champion making her Team Scotland debut at a home Games.
Pavel Karnejenko — Glasgow-trained gymnast back for his second Commonwealth Games, competing in the city that built him.
Working with athletes in a launch environment is its own discipline. Their time is scarce, their focus is elsewhere — rightly — and the job is to build a set that works around them: efficient, prepared, and directed with enough clarity that we get the frames in the windows we're given. Three athletes, one collection, and a set of launch images that put the people who'll define this Games at the front of it.
Behind the Scenes, Social & Video
Around both the Scotstoun lifestyle shoot and the Team Scotland launch, we captured full behind-the-scenes coverage — the honest, in-between moments that give a campaign a second life on social.
Alongside the stills, we delivered a suite of social and video assets built for the launch window: cutdowns, motion content, and platform-ready edits designed to carry the merchandise campaign across channels in the build-up to the opening ceremony.
One campaign, three shoots, every deliverable under one roof — direction, photography, video, and edit.
Five Days Out
The countdown is nearly done. From 23 July, ten sports across four venues, an entire Games inside one city, and a home crowd wearing the range we helped launch.
We build films and photography for sport because we come from sport. Projects like this — a home Games, on our own doorstep — are exactly why Monumont exists.
Monumont Studios is a sport production studio based in Glasgow.
